Slieout on Motorhome Dont Go In All The Way

by Michael
(Chazy Ny)

Question:I have a 2011 sunseeker 3170ds motorhome and the slide for the bedroom does not go in all the way like the other one for the living room.. It has a gap of about half inch when closed. Is this normal. thanks so much

Robbie: It is not normal to have any gap in a slide-out. This is a sensitive issue in that I strongly suggest you take the Motorhome in and have a Qualified Service Center make the adjustment. You can do a lot of damage to a slide making the wrong adjustments. Some require two techs or more. I had a customer a few months ago try to adjust his own slide and when he closed it, it tore a huge hole in his linoleum flooring. A small adjustment can have huge consequences. Please don't try this yourself.

Thanks for the Question Good Luck,
Robbie

But I also love empowering RVers with the knowledge they need to make the right decision on repairs, or to make the fix themselves--and that, my friend, is the reason for this website. I hope you enjoy.
