RV Refrigerator Gets Too Cold

by Rich Girard
(British Columbia, Canada)

Question:During cool nights I have to turn our propane fridge down or even shut is off if it is getting down near freezing outside in the early morning hours. Others that I camp with do not need to turn theirs down to prevent the vegetables from freezing. Is there a thermostat or temperature controller that needs replacing? Thanks.

Robbie: The Thermastat or Thermister may be going bad and is not as sensitive as it should be. When a Thermister goes bad it allows the frig to freeze unlike a Thermastat that shuts off the frig when it goes bad. Without a Make and Model number I can't tell you what you have. Good Luck

Thanks for the Question Good Luck,
