My RV AC Stopped Working After Connected To Generator

by Lukas
(new britain CT)

Question: Hi My AC stopped working after I connected power to my generator (1000W) and I forgot switch the AC off on the thermostat. I was able to turn it on once when I plug in to the 120 outlet, but now it doesn't work.

Thanks, Lukas

Robbie: You should never plug into power with the AC on. The 1000 watt generator is way too small to run your AC and you may have damaged the AC and/or tripped a breaker on the generator. If your AC comes on and it doesn't get cold anymore I suggest you have it checked to see if something was damaged. You may need a new start capacitor or have a burned connection. Regardless I would have a qualified tech look at it.

Thanks for the Question Good Luck,
Robbie

My A/c fan is not running when I turn on my generator. I've adjusted my thermostat is there anything else I need on?
