"Length/Type" Of Screws For Installing Surfboard Rack on 2005 class C Fleetwood Jamboree

by Chris Benoit
(Torrance, CA)

Question: I have a 2005 Fleetwood Jamboree Class C. I would like to install surboard racks. Do I need to locate studs/structural supports or is there plywood underneath. What Type and Length of screw would be best to use, Im not sure how much space is in between.

Thank you, Chris

Robbie: I'm not a expect in the construction styles of all the different manufacturers but if the roof is solid when you walk on it you do not need to search out the studs. I use Course threaded 3/8 or larger Screws that grip 3/4 inches into the roof that are phillip screw heads and I seal each one with Dycor Roof Sealer when done. Enjoy the waves

Thanks for the Question Good Luck,
