Floor Tile.. Is Self Adhesive OK?

by Jerry beverlin
(Petersburg il)

Question:Can I use self adhesive tile on the floor of my camper. I had to replace a lot of the floor in the bathroom and kitchen and need to put down new vinyl.

Robbie: Floor Tile that are Self adhesive are not recommended and normally not used in RV's. They tend to peel up and move after time and can't handle moisture from a water spillage or leaks. The tiles also don't stick real good to ruff plywood. One piece Vinyl is the way to go. Note: even if your using Vinyl flooring it is very important to do the surface prep to be smooth and clean. Even a knot in plywood must be filled or it will show thru.

Thanks for the Question Good Luck,
Robbie
