Dining Slideout Won't Come Out

Question: I have a 29' thor tahoe 5th wheel. Do I need both 110 and 12 volt for the slide to come out? With 110 I can hear it running but slide doesn't move. Do I need to charge or replace battery for slide to come out?

Robbie: You do not need to be plugged in to 110V to move the slide, but you need a fully charged battery to move it and the terminal connections must be clean. Slide-outs are heavy and draw a lot of voltage (12V). If the batteries have been sitting dead for a long time(over a few weeks) then replace them. If they're just low be sure the terminals are clean and they have water in them and charge it for a few days.

It takes 72 hrs to charge a deep cycle battery.

Good Luck,
Robbie

Robbie Warford, San Diego RV Repair

Hi, I'm Robbie. Welcome to Money-Saving-RV-Repair.com!

Like the name implies, this site is all about helping you save money while keeping your RV in tip-top shape--and that is all about you having the knowledge to do so.

I've been a technician in the RV industry for 30 years, operating out of San Diego, California. And let me tell you, I love my job.

But I also love empowering RVers with the knowledge they need to make the right decision on repairs, or to make the fix themselves--and that, my friend, is the reason for this website. I hope you enjoy.
