Carrier AC Trouble Lights Flashing

by Kathy Light
(Ormond beach, FL)

Question: My AC on my motorhome just stopped working. The green light on it flashes 5x over and over. Only the fan will run in fan mode

Robbie: You can try resetting the computer by disconnecting 12V for a few seconds but if the computer is bad you've got a bigger problem. Carrier AC manufacturer closed its doors a few years ago and parts are no longer available. The support line is no longer being answered when a tech calls. So even if you need anything for the AC all you can do is call around for a repair shop that might still have what you need on there shelf's. I can't find anything here in the San Diego area anymore. Total replacement of the AC is your only option.

Thanks for the Question Good Luck,

Rebooting 12VDC Power Worked... for 22 minutes - ugh! NEW
by: Bob

I have rebooted the 12VDC system twice so far (pulled the 7.5A fuse for AC unit in fuse box) and am monitoring the unit. If it is going to switch off every 20 minutes or so this will be no good.
So I guess unless I can find a 'computer' for the Carrier Air V unit we have on this 5th wheel camper we just purchased, it is time to look for a replacement unit?
Any suggestions on a brand than can go into our existing ducted sytem?
And what should we be expecting to spend on this?
