Cargo Locks

by Robby
(Knoxville, TN)

Question:We have a 27 foot Wildwood travel trailer and would like to change the locks on the cargo doors so that nobody else can use their universal key to unlock them since they all have the same lock. Where can we get locks for it that nobody else has ?

Robbie:The only way to have them keyed all the same with keys only you have is go thru a locksmith if they don't have the locks in stock they may have to order them or they can re-key the locks you have. Keep in mind the locks will only keep honest people honest because most compartments can be opened with a small screwdriver just prying on the doors and also with the common locks its nice to be able to replace them when they rust and won't work but this would be hard to do with custom locks. Be careful

Robbie Warford, San Diego RV Repair

Hi, I'm Robbie. Welcome to Money-Saving-RV-Repair.com!

Like the name implies, this site is all about helping you save money while keeping your RV in tip-top shape--and that is all about you having the knowledge to do so.

I've been a technician in the RV industry for 30 years, operating out of San Diego, California. And let me tell you, I love my job.

But I also love empowering RVers with the knowledge they need to make the right decision on repairs, or to make the fix themselves--and that, my friend, is the reason for this website. I hope you enjoy.
