Interior Ceiling Repair?

by Larry Harris
(PA)

Question: I have the leaks stopped but the interior ceiling in some areas is toast. I tore out the cardboard ceiling and am left with blocks of foam. What is the recommended fix for replacement?

Robbie: Water can do a lot of damage as you've witnessed, but damaged panels can be replaced and either glued or you can use moldings to hold them in. You're going to have to be pretty good with trim work and have a good helper to get them in place. Hardest part is going to be cutting each panel to fit. RV ceiling panels are available and can be ordered through any RV dealer in your area. Understand it's a big job and requires a lot of patience but it can be done.

Good luck,
Robbie
